I'm going crazy. Batshit crazy. Over kitties.
I started to dream about them. In my dream, I'm feeding them. In my backyard and even at my friend's backyard. What is wrong with me?
Or is there?
In other news, I recently watched BEFORE MIDNIGHT, which is the third installment of the Before movie series (Before Sunrise, Before Sunset). The main attraction for me in the movie is its witty dialog. Like its two predecessors, this movie is filled with talking. Real talking about relationship, about feelings. If you are a fan of the movies, you'll know why this is a home run for me. If not, I don't know how to convert you.
I watched it with the hubby. He was a bit dejected. Okay maybe dejected is not the right word here. Let's say disappointed at my choice of movie via Netflix, but he stuck around the whole time. Well he got nowhere else to go, plus he was also reading the papers at the same time.
However, he was really fascinated by the screenplay. He seemed to relate to the characters and I laughed at the same places he did. We both pointed fingers at each other and saw that relationship are the same everywhere.
I just love the relatability of the characters. To me it doesn't feel like I'm watching a movie. It feels like I'm privy to real people's lives. The actors, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy (I heart her a lot.) are so good at being natural. Hats off. I hope there's a fourth installment.

Manic Monday
"It's 6 o'clock already and I'm just in the middle of my dream."
Well that was literally me this morning. I had back-to-back dreams one before the alarm clock sounded and another afterwards, when I decided to go back for the mandatory "5 more minutes" after one turns off the alarm clock.
Funny how our dreams come out. I find that in order for me to document them, I have to blog about them.
The first dream (I think both dreams are actually one dream combined) I was lunching with college gal pals. I saw Betchay, Doc Sheila. The table was full, so I suppose the whole gang was back together, except for Fe, who in the dream we phoned to tell her how we wished she was joining us for lunch.
Then the obnoxious, louder than necessary buzz of the alarm clock abruptly cut my luncheon date. It's amazing how blindly we find the source of noise in our half asleep state. As I was doing so, I had to pull myself upwards to reach the alarm clock and the familiar weight on top of my legs told me my little kitteh Emma had been sleeping on top my legs still. I am her bed. The movement did not bother the cat and I mumbled to no one in particular, "5 more minutes". That was at 7:00 AM.
Second dream I was meeting up with Pat and Gigi, girlfriends of mine from here that I met in another school setting, for dinner. I was aware that I just had lunch with my college "barkada". While we were getting settled in our table (love the cozy ambiance of the restaurant), here comes my college classmate Belle with her little boy Bryton. It made no sense at all. How could my college life fuse with my after college life. It's really interesting. It makes me want to read up more on dream interpretation.
When the dream ended, I woke up to find that the 5 minutes was actually 35 and so I jumped out of bed hoping that I wouldn't come in late today.
Some years ago, college to be exact, I was very interested in dream interpretation. I read up on it, although most of what I read I cannot remember now. In my early years after I moved to California, I spent a lot of time in bookstores with coffee shop inside of them and browse at all the dream interpretation books I could find on the shelves and over coffee and biscotti I would scan the pages. Nothing of that reading knowledge remains with me today.
I'll be blogging on my other site about my day trip on Sunday to a very interesting spot called vernal pools just outside of Sacramento.

Daily February: Day 1
I am embarking on a project to blog daily and I thought doing it in February makes the most sense since it is the shortest month of the year; hence less work, hahaha.
I had a dream last night. Two actually, but I'm only sharing one, the first one today. I'm quite fascinated by dreams and how few I remember when I wake up. I don't know if I don't dream quite as often or that I simply don't remember them when I wake up.
Last night when the hubby rolled over to get up and use the potty, I woke up too. In my estimation it was nearly dawn; but when I followed him in the potty I glanced at the clock on my bedside table and it showed that I had only been sleeping at most 1.5 hours. How could that be? I already had a dream.
The dream went like this: I overheard a man in his 20s or 30s begging the sari-sari store owner to please sell him coffee and some pastries for breakfast. The storeowner, an older gent with salt and pepper hair, was rudely telling him that he has no coffee brewed at the moment and that he needed to leave for work right away, else he'd be late and his boss wouldn't hear of it.
Now, this is where I know I was dreaming, I suppose. Why would you get coffee and pastries at a sari-sari store?
Feeling sorry for this hungry man, I invited him over to my house for coffee.
The next scene finds this man sitting in my kitchen/dining room. The room is vaguely similar to the dining room/kitchen I grew up in, although the counter wraps around one half of the room and there are two different sinks. Nope it didn't look anything ike the kitchen I grew up in.
Anyway, with all the counter space I find it really weird that only two coffeemakers were on it. One at each end. I went to the closest one next to the door and I had a tough time manipulating it. It's like a 1920s version of a cappuccino machine. Except there were no cappuccino machines in the 1920s, I don't think.
While fumbling through coffee making, my older cousin who lived with us and raised my siblings and I came into the room. (She's been dead for a few years now.) She told me that this machine I was using is broken and I should use the one at the far end of the long counter.
I was worried that the delay is making my guest bored so I thought I'd invite one of my childhood friends to talk to him while I figure out a way to brew coffee. While I was thinking that, the son-of-gun appeared in my kitchen and pulled up a chair next to my guest and they started talking while I started to brew coffee at coffee maker #2.
Then I woke up.
DREAM INTERPRETATION: I don't have a clue except that my cousin must be whispering to me from beyond telling me to remember her on her upcoming death anniversary. It's in February.

Of Dreams
What a weird dream I had last night. I don't remember much of it, but some parts of it were clear.
First, I have a baby. It doesn't appear to be a biological child. But I have a baby in my arms that needed to be fed.
Second, I have 2 more children in my house, ages ranging from 4 to 12.
Third, my niece was in the house helping with the groceries while I battle with preparing baby formula and at the same time making sure I don't drop the baby.
It was really weird.
But I think the answer to my baby needs has been answered.
I think it's time I look into adoption more seriously.

Dreamland

Last night I had a dream, one that baffles me. I don't dream often, or perhaps I do but only few I still remember when I wake up. This one from last night is one that I remember vividly. I cannot remember the last time when a dream stayed with me all day long.
The setting was in my hometown. That's a guess. How else can my high school girlfriends and I be in one place if not for our hometown. Plus the people in my dream actually still live in my hometown.
So it began as a group of us girls were heading to the library as my friend, the main character of this dream, was to return a VHS tape and borrow another one. Yes, you heard that right VHS. In the dream I didn't put too much emphasis on VHS versus DVD. Why not DVD?
The other girls in the dream had no speaking part. They just loiter around us, browsing at the shelves. I know 3 of them. However, I know there were more with us than those three girls.
Anyway, the main character told me that she and her husband have split up! That she wants my opinion on this new guy she's eyeing! OMG! Totally out of character!
I must have said something to her when she dropped the bomb on me, but I don't remember. All I could remember was how could they break up when they were the most solid partnership in our group. And I don't know where the phrase "solid partnership" came from.
Now in my waking state granted that I've only been fully awake for 3 hours, the dream has been occupying my thoughts. I don't want to put too much stock on a dream. What did Freud say about dreams anyway? He said they represent wish fulfillment.
It cannot be my wish fulfillment. Absolutely not! I love them, their first-born is my godchild. Oh lordy, what a baffling dream so close to Christmas.

Synchronized Dreaming
Okay I made up that word, synchronized dreaming. But its the only word I can find to describe the phenomenon.
Have you dreamed the same dream on the same night/same time with someone else?
I have. TWICE. The first one was last year. Both me and my husband dreamed on the same night that we were on a cruise. Well, in his dream he was on a cruise. I was on a cruise in my dream too. Neither of us appeared in each other's dream, however.
And towards the end of last year, we took one major once-in-a-lifetime cruise to the Mediterranean. Three long weeks of vacation in Europe!!!!!
Last Sunday when we woke up late - because it's our lazy weekend, read post below - I told him I had a dream. Quickly he added he also had a dream. He doesn't dream often. Or at least he doesn't remember having a dream often. Or else he doesn't tell me about his dreams often. Make your pick.
Still this one he told me. He said he was in Germany, Berlin I believe. My dream that night also I was floating (I hope recreationally) somewhere in Germany, Berlin I believe as well. Now, I am not particularly knowledgeable about Germany and its landscape/topography. I wouldn't know if there is a river big enough for cruise ships in Berlin.
So if I apply the same principles that happen in our first synchronized dreaming, I'd assume we'd soon be touring Germany right?
Keeping my fingers crossed :)
