It's official, we are in springtime mode. I love spring. It's an outdoor season. You have to be outside to enjoy it. All the trees are blooming. The rapeseed are blanketing the ground. The bulbs are all on display - the tulips, hyacinths, etc.

I must take advantage of the start of this season. I have noticed that my camera was in hiatus lately. It only went out shooting once the entire winter.

Hope springs eternal they say. And spring is the season of hope. The season where we begin anew, fresh start.

This spring I'm looking forward to a little quick get-away for our anniversary. I am hoping for a little walk with the giants (redwoods) but I"m not sure what we'll do. The past couple of years we've done the beach (Monterey) although both times it was still too cold to linger even on the beach. I'd like a little nature walk under the trees, but I'm not sure.

Nothing else is in the books for spring. We are anticipating a long-awaited visit to relatives abroad in the summer time, but that too is not set in stone. One thing that is booked is our cruise in November. Plenty of time to acrrue more vacation time to use for that right?

Enjoy spring. Enjoy the flowers. Take antihistamine so you can for those who have allergies :). Just kidding.

My Love Affair With Roses

Ever since I can remember I have always been fascinated by roses. I love them. Rose trees, rose bushes, rose vines, ground cover roses, fragrant ones, singles, doubles, any kind.

While we have a few rose plants in the house, my husband was not agreeable to planting only roses in the garden. I do love other flowers too, but my love for roses remain at the top of my list.

What's not to love with these?

Cheering Myself

Our weather had gone bonkers around here. It's sweater weather again this week. A thick fog bank parked itself in our coast and has no inclination of going anywhere until this weekend some say, and so we have a cool stretch of a few days. Nope I am not complaining. After all, it was only a week or so ago when we had that mini heatwave so even though we had to bring out the sweaters again from the drawers, I care not if that meant no heatwave.

However, the gloomy and yes drizzly summer days so far have given rise to some gloomy disposition on my part. Add the fact that I have been feeling run down, mentally and emotionally (post-surgical)and in dire need of a little get-away - one that isn't coming for another month or so. I just cannot go on without a little break.

So while I contemplate on where I could take a day trip somewhere, let me post some flower images that I know would pick up my mood.







Now I feel so much better.

I have posted an entire post on my visit to the iris farm in my blog. But I couldn't post all the beautiful irises in one post. So here, a feast to the eyes.
