I had a horrible dream yesterday. It's almost a nightmare. I woke up (twas 5 am according to the clock on my bedside table) with my heart racing and I was feeling very very hot. The former is attributed to the almost nightmare, but the latter was because I was buried under a blanket, a quilt, and a throw and two cats. Both cats were snoozing on top of my legs and feet. The throw is our futile attempt to have a hair-free quilt. Except that the cats when we're not in the bed like to burrow under the throw and sleep on the quilt. I don't know why we keep the throw, but it's still there. Minimizing the amount of hair that goes on the quilt.
I finally got around to eating Vietnamese food yesterday. You'd think I was pregnant by the rabid craving I have for this Vietnamese dish (vermicelli bun - like pho without the broth). And I only want to eat it at this little hole in the wall, no frills Vietnamese-Cambodian restaurant. Glad hubs wanted to eat as well.
And speaking of Cambodian, a Cambodian couple mistook me for another Cambodian. Now I've been mistaken for a Thai, Indonesian and now Cambodian. Without a doubt I definitely have Asian features.
And also we have finally cleaned out the other half of the garage. It's not completely clear and clean, but there is more leg room in there. We need more shelving and hooks to hang the bikes and the ladders.
I'm also seriously considering putting up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving. Our neighbors already have lights up, not lit just yet, but up just the same.
In addition, I have completed my Twilight Saga books. This weekend I found ECLIPSE at a Goodwill Store. We dropped off some donations and then stayed for a little browsing. Got some items including a kitty mug set and the Eclipse copy for $2.99. So I started to read it. But too many things got in the way this four-day weekend that I haven't gotten past the first chapter yet.
One more thing I think I've forgotten to mention in the past posts, I baked scones. They were good. However, there were some errors in execution, so I'll try again. My niece came and tasted the cookies while I was out and when I got back and she was still there, she knew they were scones. So this is definitely very encouraging results. I shall try again.
In the same night while I was busy making scones, the hubby's project was home-made Mexican tamales). Oh they were good, a tad dry but they were good.
Until next week (kidding).

One Week Later
Some days, writing comes easily. Other days, like lately, it's like pulling teeth.
Despite this obstacle, I'm finding so many little things that make me happy. I choose to be happy.
Costco's rotisserie chicken makes me so very happy. It's so good I have to snack on it on the drive home.
Another happy occasion happened when I finally got to see BREAKING DAWN Part 2. I'm so pathetic. A woman of my age should not be watching these kinds of films; but I suppose it's the romantic bone in my body that make me crave these chick flicks.
In addition, my kitties continue to make me happy. I love watching them sleep. I love playing with them. Buster has gotten to be very vocal and we engage in full blown conversations. I don't care if you call me crazy cat lady, but Buster and I understand
each other.
Hopefully I will find the inspiration to write more, because first and foremost it makes me happy.

Daily October (22)
I'm a few pages away from finishing New Moon, the second of 4 Twilight books. I don't know about the reviews for this book or the movie for that matter, but the fact that I'm tackling these books long after all the hullaballoo is quite lunatic on my part.
However, there was something about the Twilight movie that made me long to read the books. I like it when a story is narrated/seen from the protagonist's point of view.
The thing I liked about the first book is that it's an easy read. I liked the pacing of the story on the first two books.
In the movies I belonged to team Edward. But when I read New Moon, I couldn't help but switch sides to team Jacob. In the books Jacob was written so appealingly. In the books I never liked the Edward character. But I liked him in the movie version.
Anyway I am enjoying the story so much that I read the two books in 3 days, well almost done with the second one, which is a record. Well at least now that's a record. I used to devour books a long time ago. However, I do not have the 3rd book Eclipse, which may delay my reading the whole saga. I don't want to skip a book; I'll see if there's a copy of Eclipse in the library.
In between these books I read Sidney Sheldon. I'm trying to read Sheldo again because I want to analyze what it is about his stories, his writings, his characters that resonated with me and appealed so much to my sensibilities.
I remember in college or something we would read his book and put the characters under microscope and identify all the psychological fibers/abnormalities of their persona. It was a fun activity to do after reading the books. Of course we were all psychology majors pretending to know more than we do. I hope this time around after reading the books I can dissect the characters better than I did back in the day and that I can understand the reasons behind why the characters do the things they do or why they did in such a way and not another way.

Daily October (20)
Then I followed it up with a Sidney Sheldon book, The Stars Shine Down. I've loved Sidney Sheldon and devoured his books in college - decades ago - and I'm enjoying rereading them. I've got three more of his books pending.
Oh the leaves are changing colors. I love to go out and photograph the leaves, maybe next weekend. Later today I have to take the kitties to get their shots.

Daily October (13)
At the book sale I managed to get all three (only 3 right?) Twilight books, about 5 Sidney Sheldon hardcovers - I've read them all back in college. Since he is my fave author so far, I thought I'd start collecting his books and maybe someday I'd be able to complete the collection. I simply love the way he tells a story.
I've started reading Twilight and just stopped so I could blog, hahahaha!
And all these books - plus others that my hubby picked - for $1.00. I'm so happy!!!!!

He May Not Love Me After This Weekend
My husband that is. You see I dragged him to watch BREAKING DAWN Part 1 on Sunday. He knew we were going to eventually watch it you know. And he was miserable the entire time. He couldn't help but make snide remarks throughout the movie, which I don't blame him. I would have spouted the same remarks myself. The movie was how can I put it mildly, well a waste of time.
But that didn't mean I didn't enjoy my time. I love the characters. May be more if I read the books, but even without knowing them thru the books I really embraced them. I feel like I know them.
When the first movie came up, I was blindsided. I didn't know anything about the movie. I didn't even bother to watch it on the big screen. On DVD, I found the story appealing to not only teens but eternally romantics like I am. So what if the characters are high school students. I can totally relate to the boy 1 loves girl and girl loves boy 2 situation. I also can relate to the torn between two lovers scenario. So this really appealed to me.
So when the second movie came out, I dragged the hubby into the cinema for date night. He was difficult but I promised him that this would be the only one of the series that we'd pay money to see. But I lied. Despite the fact that the second movie was boring, I was eager to see this one too.
It took a lot of cajoling to get him to agree to see the movie. Until know I really can't pinpoint what made him change his mind. I'm guessing he said yes just to shut me up. Like all husbands do, you know.
However, I must say that subjecting the husband to mushy chick flick about teens is bordering on torture. I pity him and feel for him.
But I have to be alert now and find ways to get him to see the Part 2 when it comes. My job is laid out before me. I must prepare.

It's Over!
Finally the long-awaited church fundraiser is over. It was held last Saturday from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.
No more planning meetings, no more editing, no more researching. It's over! A sigh of relief was released in unison.
The truth is it appeared to have been a success. Why did I say that without certainty? It's because the monies were not tallied yet as of this writing, but seeing the people's happy faces that Saturday night, it was a powerful community bonding event.
I have never felt like a part of this community despite living here for 18 years until I joined this church.
Anyway I was on cashiering duty that night. We had silent auction in addition to all the chocolate tasting. When the tables close the items on the tables will be moved to us. There were two ladies arranging the items in the back and they send it to us when the winners come to claim their items.
I was a monster at using the credit card machine. Kidding. I got trained 30 minutes before opening on how to use the credit card machine. I swiped and swiped the cards. It's fun not to be using my own card to swipe.
However, we bid on a pair of Thomas Kincaid paintings, which we won. All in all it was a fun evening. I had a great time. I even managed to abandon my shyness and engage people in animated conversation about our community. Can you imagine me chatting easily with people? Must be God helping me overcome my shyness.
So what's next? Summer is still here despite the weather cooling off a bit. It's the perfect summer weather if you'd ask me.
Since we were busy with church all weekend, I didn't do any chores and next weekend is a long weekend, but I'm gonna be taking it easy. I'll have an outpatient surgery on Friday and was advised on my preop to take it easy all through the weekend. So I'll probably get a little movie marathon going and cuddling with my cats.
BTW, I watched ECLIPSE again the other day and do you agree with me Twilight fanatics that those three main characters can't act?

Moral Support
I was out sick last week for two days. Nothing serious, just seasonal stuff I guess. I was feeling run-down, must be due to the chaotic tone of the Holidays where people spread themselves too thin around this time taking on more than they can handle. I was one of those I suppose.

On my first day in bed, Emma was my companion. Both cats stayed in bed with me, but Emma was the one beside me the whole time as I rested in bed and watched Twilight and New Moon - again!

On the second day, it was Buster who kept me company as I felt a whole lot better and vegitated instead on the couch instead of the bedroom. There Buster kept me company as I watched via Netflix watch instantly the first season of PRISON BREAK. It was nice reliving those episodes again. I also realized that I did not see the first 4 or 5 episodes of Prison Break, how could that be?
Anyway, I returned back to work after getting my lab test results and all I needed is to pop some vitamins, good.
And how could it be that with the more you check off names of your Christmas list the longer it gets? I was out and about again this weekend picking up more and more for more and more people. I am getting bankrupt :)
Regardless, I am going to enjoy this Holiday Season.

Being Anonymous
I like being anonymous on cyberspace. I don't think any of my friends know I blog. Once upon a time I did tell a few to take a peek at my blogs - I don't think they did - and encouraged one or two who are terrific writers to write/put out a blog of their own. I thought they were wasting their talent by not sharing their written thoughts. I was very lucky in the past when they would write me kilometric letters. And when the letters stopped coming I thought it would be to my best interest if they would write. Unfortunately, they didn't blog or maybe I just didn't get an invite to read their thoughts, if they did put out a blog.
Anyway, this isn't where this post is supposed to go when I first typed the first sentence of this post. But it definitely took a life of its own.
So aside from being an closet blogger to my real friends, I am also a ghost or lurker to some fabulous blogs around cyberspace. A few of them I added to my links and still others I continue to read without them knowing. Some day I will tell you which blogs I frequent.
In the mean time, I'd be happy to report that my tree is finally up. I haven't taken a picture of it yet. I don't know how long it will remain up as my kitties are so fascinated by the rounded ball of shimmer and glitter hanging on the tree that I spent the rest of the weekend shooing them away from and under the tree.
We also have been getting some rain. On Sunday, there was a downpour and I got wet going to the cinema to finally watch Harry Potter. I know, I know. But I love to watch movies when there is no crowd to spoil my fun. Thankfully after 3 weeks of running, the crowd has finally thinned out at Harry Potter.
Wasn't that just a marvelous 2 hours of Harry Potter? I'm almost sad that it's ending. Would it be too much to hope that JK Rowlings find the inspiration to continue the story with the next generation of Potters and Weasleys? Fingers crossed.
Also I would like to share with you a fine fine deal of a sale I got on Thanksgiving weekend. We went to Borders bookstore to collect the free latte (coupon via newspaper) and browse at the books. But lo and behold I saw a display of some older dvds on sale for $7. Included on the $7 display case were Twilight and New Moon, both of which are the 2-dvd package. Can you believe my luck. So last night after enjoying some Potter, I came home and put on Twilight and giggle like a teenager. Nothing like being silly on a rainy night.
